THIS IS MY DAUGHTER VANESSA'S JOURNAL ENTRY TO RAISE MONEY FOR CANCER RESEARCH!
Warning! This will get pretty sad from this point on.
As a few of you may know, in August 2013, I lost my brother to a battle with testicular cancer. Last year, in memoriam of my brother, my family started a team in the Relay For Life, specifically the one in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Last year, that team made over $1000 for donations towards cancer research. My family personally has struggled with many cases of cancer within the last decade or so; my grandmother passed due to kidney cancer, my aunt survived breast cancer [and now is officially in remission], my brother passed to testicular cancer, and just this past year, we learned that my uncle now has the same form of kidney cancer as my grandmother did. This year, the team hopes to reach a goal of $2000, and in order to help achieve this, I will be hosting a little event of my own, right here.
The Plan
From the beginning of February 2015 to the end of August 2015, I will be taking commissions for this cause. All of the money earned from these commissions and any donations will go directly to the team, and there for, the American Cancer Society. I won't take )even a single penny of that money for myself. I will also try to hold YCH (YOUR CHARACTER HERE- MEANING YOU PROVIDE HER WITH YOUR CHARACTER IMAGE AND SHE WILL DRAW A PICTURE OF IT FOR YOU IN A SPECIFIED SCENE) auctions with related themes to the relay or cancer research in general which will go directly to the team donations. There will be a separate paypal account made specifically for this, which I will put at the end of this journal for any donations, be they from commission, good will, adoptables, what ever you can think of.
At the end of each month, I will post screenshots of that paypal account, with all the donators names and all the private information of them blocked out, showing the flow of money from the donators directly to the relay itself. These will probably be on my tumblr so as not to flood FA with these screen shots. I will make sure these don't show the donators name, or address, or anything, just the amount of money raised and sent to the charity.
More About The American Cancer Society And The Relay For Life
If you are concerned that only one type of cancer benefits from this, don't worry. The American Cancer Society uses the money towards researching all types of cancer. You name it, they are working on developing treatments and, one day hopefully, cure for it. They have been working hard to beat cancer for more than 65 years and, with the help of donators like you and I, have been funding the best possible research out there. The American Cancer Society is the largest private, nonprofit funder of cancer research in the United States, having spent more than $4 billion dollars on research since 1946.
The Relay For Life itself is an organized relay, an overnight walk for fundraising. There are many teams which camp around the track, where the members walk. At least one person from each team is on the track at all times as the other members work booths. These booths usually have food, water, games, and other such activities to help rally every one together for the common goal; raising money for cancer research. There are different themed laps as well; some of which are silly, like dress up as a clown, or wear a funny hat, while others are more serious, like the survivors lap. Then there is the Luminaria Ceremony, where luminarias are lit after dark in memoriam of those who has fought cancer in the past, and those who continue to do so.
You can join any team and raise money for them. There are sure to be some in your area if you live in the US and even if you don't. The Relay For Life has grown over the years to become a global phenomenon. If you want to learn more, or find teams in your area, use this link Relay For Life and look around. This year the registration is free, so feel free to join any team you see fit and start raising money.
I know that this has been a very long journal, but it is for a good cause. If you would like a commission that would go towards the Relay, just let me know. Tell me you want your commission to be counted as a donation, and I will give you the right paypal address to send payment to.
If you would like to send donations or anything, the paypal for the donations is VixysComs4Cancer[at]yahoo.com
If you can't donate or order commissions, feel free to spread the word around! I would love love love love to see other artists doing something similar for good causes like this one.

ok I'm here and settled kinda
I'm safe in Denver. We have moved into our apt..I'm writing this on my phone because we don't have internet access yet. But things are going well. I woke up with a horrible head ache this morning so I didn't go with Keith to his weekend job of running the national flag football league here. But i rested and took some pain killer so I am somewhat better now. I decided to try and give this a go. I've never been on da on my phone before, there's a lot of pop-up ads. But I wanted to let you know how we are doing. Keith (darkmoonproductions) took some photos of me the othet night and will probably be posting on his page when he gets t
MOVING!!!
That's right I have been in Tucson AZ for almost 7 years, but now it is time for a change, a big change. I am moving to Colorado!! Home of cold winters and snow!!!!. I am moving to be with the man I love ~darkmoonproductions (https://www.deviantart.com/darkmoonproductions) and I am hopeful the move will bring new opportunities for photos and life in general. My daughter has decided not to make the move with me she has a job here, has made good friends here and has decided to stay for at least a little while, see how she likes living on her own, something she has never done before. I am sad she is staying but proud of her as well. We both told her if she decides she doesn't want to be

Someone at work yesterday told me that we all have 2 birthdays, the day we are born into this world and the day we become angels.... i like that... So happy Angel birthday Adam Brinkman. you were, are and always will be SPLENDAWESOME! I miss you and I'll see you when i see you...... love mom
something to think about
i read a journal from someone i watch on here about being a man, and it made me think of my son.... this is the answer i wrote on his journal .. plus some..
i tried to teach my son , being a man meant respecting yourself and others. that it didn't matter how many false friends you had as long as you had one true friend. I tried to teach him to believe in himself and be strong in his mind and beliefs...what ever he chose to believe... he taught me a lot of about being strong in the face of unbelievable sadness, struggles and pain and how to fight even when everyone told you there was nothing left to fight for.... he fought for his life eve

Have you considered looking into alternative research? Some of my reading has made me wonder if there are in fact effective cures for cancer, that don't include cutting off body parts or taking poison, but are being shut out by the corporate medical establishment...
